In my opinion, Billy Crudup, Minnie Driver, and Gillian Anderson all excel in their roles.

This was quite a feat for dubs back then, especially in 1999.Īs far as the performances go, this is always going to be a subjective argument, but I found nothing wrong with them I was introduced to this movie by watching the dub on the big screen at the Angelika Center, and honestly, I can't watch it in the Japanese version no matter how "superior" I'm told it is. The man does an excellent job of striding the line between remaining faithful while rewording the dialogue for natural purposes, and the lip sync is done quite flawlessly. It's not perfect, but it's still deserving of being commended. As far as I'm concerned, I don't think this movie could have asked for a better dub. I really don't see any of the criticisms, to be honest.
There are some people who think the dub on this is terrible despite the effort that was put into it.
